I make Marlin and Tuna lures. Thats what KKPONO is all about. All of my
lures are 100% custom made to order and are currently available at Kens
Custom Reel in Oceanside Harbor, or at several of JP Tackle stores. I can
add business logos, boat names, or personal names. I have multiple
inserts with a lot of weight or no weight at all. Abalone, Lai skin, paint, or
an immense choice of mylar reflective tapes are available. If you are
interested in a custom lure of any type, use the Contact Us portion of
this site to email me and I will work with you to create what ever lure you
want.
I have an incredible selection of the most beautiful Abalone in

Holo Holo Baits, and my personal favorite Teaser tails made by Ocean lure concepts.
While its impossibel to cover everything of importance when deciding on what exactly someone needs in a lure,
there are the most basic issues of importance to cover.
Water conditions: is the water in the area you are from more often rough or is it grease all day?
Where do you want a lure for in a pattern? Short corner, Riggers, or long gone?
How big is the boat you are fishing? A lot of difference is made on the height in which the lure line is run from.
Higher up tends to cause the lure to run higher in the water, thus a heavier lure head would be better. While one
boats transom may be 10 feet above sea level and that is their flat line, while another boat is dragging their flat line
partially under water half the time- this boat would want light lures that tend to spend time higher in the water.
Whats the speed you like to troll at? I know in So Cal offshore the speed preferences vary widely. 6-9 or even 10kts
and above. This really dictates the type of lure being run. Slow running is gonna take a light lure, fast running
needs a heavier lure. These are all things I would like to know about each boat I make custom lures for. Believe me
I want you to catch fish as much as you do...unless we're fishing in a tournament against each other, then maybe I
would like on a bit bigger, but still hope ya get em on one of mine!
